Woman killed in Thursday's auto-pedestrian crash identified
MURRAY, Utah — The Murray Police Department has released the name of a woman who was killed near a crosswalk Thursday morning.
The woman is 44-year-old Dixie Edgar of Salt Lake City a news release said Friday.
Edgar was in a dimly lit area just west of a crosswalk near 4500 South near 500 West in Murray when a car hit her.
Police were still investigating the incident and did not include any other information. Police did say that the driver was cooperating with them. Officers also found a second car that was possibly involved in the crash.
“Once the investigators got on scene and started looking at the crash they had some witness state there was another vehicle, and debris on scene made them realize there was another vehicle involved,” Murray Police spokeswoman Kristin Reardon said. “The (second driver) may not know what they hit, probably knew they hit something, but in that area you can have wildlife, you could have debris in the road from something else.
Edgar’s sister set up a GoFundMe* account to help the family.
