Chadwick Aaron Boseman was an American actor, screenwriter, and director. He was known for such films as 42, Black Panther, and the tv show Lincoln Heights. Boseman was born on November 29, 1976, in Anderson, South Carolina. His father, Leroy, owned an upholstery business and his mother, Carolyn, worked as a nurse. Boseman attended T. L. Hanna High School followed by Howard University. He graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in directing. He also studied at the British American Drama Academy in Oxford, England.

CAREER
Prior to acting, Boseman was a drama instructor at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in New York. He appeared in a number of stage productions early in his career. His stage credits include Romeo and Juliet, Breathe, and Zooman. He was awarded an AUDELCO award in 2002 for his role in Ron Milner’s Urban Transitions: Loose Blossoms. Boseman wrote a handful of plays for the Hip Hop Theatre Festival. These include Deep Azure, and Hieroglyphic Graffiti.

Boseman made his television debut in a 2003 episode of the NBC series Third Watch. He followed up with appearances in All My Children, Law & Order, ER, and Cold Case. Boseman starred as Nathaniel “Nate” Ray in 9 episodes of Lincoln Heights. He co-starred in ‘Persons Unknown (2010)’ alongside Jason Wiles and Daisy Betts. Other television shows include The Glades, Castle and Justified.

In 2008, Boseman made his feature film debut as ‘Floyd Little’ in the sports film, The Express. He portrayed baseball great ‘Jackie Robinson‘ in the 2013 biographical sports film, 42. Boseman starred as ‘James Brown’ in the 2014 biographical drama, Get on Up. He was cast as Marvel superhero ‘Black Panther’ in Captain America: Civil War (2016). The film also stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., and Scarlett Johansson. The superhero role was reprised in Black Panther (2018). Other notable films include Draft Day (2014) with Kevin Costner, and Gods of Egypt (2016) with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Marshall (2017) with Kate Hudson, 21 Bridges (2019), and Da 5 Bloods (2020).
