Sad Over Dancing with the Stars Elimination, Chris Soules

Publish date: 2024-08-24

… And then there were five on Dancing with the Stars.

On Monday night, the ABC competition sent a pair of contestants home, bidding farewell to former Olympic ice skater Nancy Kerrigan and former reality show heart-breaker Nick Viall.

To most viewers, the elimination of Viall was long overdue.

(Most viewers are also unsure how David Ross is still around, but hey: he seems like a really nice guy.)

On the evening, Viall and partner Peta Murgatroyd actually received two nines and an eight from the judges after performing the Tango to "Dangerous" by David Guetta, but it still wasn’t enough.

And they couldn’t really complain, considering Heather Morris previously got the axe despite a perfect score from the panel just minutes earlier.

Shortly after receiving the unfortunate news, Viall spoke to E! News and said he wished he could have stuck around longer, but he has no regrets.

"I think Peta and I were sort of hoping to squeeze in one more week…Now that it’s over it’s sad," Viall said, adding:

"I had such an amazing time with Peta. She’s a fantastic partner; we had fun all the time. It’s definitely a bummer to see it end."

He expressed a similar sentiment on Instagram last night, sharing a photo of himself and Peta and writing as a caption:

"What an amazing experience!! Sad to see it end. @petamurgatroyd thanks for being such an amazing partner!"

Viall went on to say he’s exciting to work on his upcoming grooming line, while also enjoying quality time with Vanessa Grimaldi.

"Vanessa and I, we’re going to keep doing our thing," he told E!.

"Dancing’s over, that’s a bummer, but I’m really looking forward to the future and definitely spending more time with the business and Vanessa."

Of course, Viall isn’t the only ex-Bachelor star in the news right now.

On a much grander and more upsetting scale, Chris Soules was arrested last week for leaving the scene of a fatal car accident.

He may still face a charge of vehicular manslaughter and he may spend many years behind bars.

Viall didn’t have much to say about the development, but he did offer up the following response to the "terrible situation" when asked:

"Obviously, more than anything, my heart goes out to the person who passed away and their family and I’m just praying for everyone involved."

Well said.

We feel the same way.
