Why Alluri Family Unhappy With RRR!
Visionary filmmaker Rajamouli’s upcoming magnum opus RRR is said to be a fictional story inspired by the life of freedom fighters — Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. The film is set in pre-independence 1920s India and RRR stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR as the youthful forms of pioneering freedom fighters Alluri Sitarama Raju from Andhra Pradesh and Komaram Bheem from Telangana.
On a volatile note, a great revolutionary hero and a true Indian patriot, Alluri Sitarama Raju’s family members are now making their objections to the film RRR in the public domain. It’s quite unfortunate that the magnum opus is getting into trouble just before the release and the kin of Alluri slammed the makers by alleging that the image of Alluri Sitharama Raju has been defamed. It is comprehended that this isn’t a story that family members of Alluri are eager to see retold.
As we know, the internet became obsessed with the film from the moment the first in-character photos of Tarak and Charan. But the family say that the makers are stealing the identity of Alluri to make a profit. Alluri Sitharama Raju’s nephew has taken strong exception to three particular scenes that were shown in the trailer of RRR. He pointed out that Alluri was depicted as a policeman, working for Britishers. And then arresting Komaram Bheem is another mistake. The family members have slammed the portrayal of these two leaders together, who didn’t have any relation in reality. In history, there is no evidence of such incidence shown in the trailer and both leaders have never met.
On the other hand, Rajamouli had earlier said that the film deals with a figment of imagination added to construct the undocumented life of both the rebels who fought the British in India, set in 1920. During a press meet, Rajamouli stated that the film is inspired by The Motorcycle Diaries (2004) and RRR is a fictional story exploring the possibility of revolutionaries Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem having crossed paths.
“Rubbing your imagination and showing Alluri Sitharama Raju as a police officer is very wrong. Show what the world doesn’t know. Not what doesn’t exist,” quoted his descendants. They further said that it is good that the history of their ancestor, who fought for the country, is coming on the big screen with this big-budget film. However, it is totally unacceptable the depiction of historical facts. “We will not accept falsely stated facts,” was said. The family members have demanded the makers to show them the movie before its release or else will go legally. Their demand still sits robust on the removal of all misleading or unhistorical facts shown through this movie.
